How Do You Go About Canceling LinkedIn Premium?
Canceling LinkedIn Premium is done from your Premium subscription settings on the LinkedIn desktop site or Android app, or through Apple if you subscribed on an iPhone. A paid plan stays active until the billing cycle ends. A free trial ends immediately. Canceling does not trigger an automatic refund.

What Are the Steps to Cancel?
The steps depend on where you bought the subscription. LinkedIn states that if you signed up directly through LinkedIn, you can cancel only from the desktop website or the Android app. Apple purchases are canceled on an Apple device.
If you subscribed on LinkedIn’s website
- Log in on a desktop browser.
- Click your profile picture and open your Premium subscription settings.
- Select the option to manage your Premium account.
- Choose Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to the final confirmation.
- Check your email for the cancellation notice.
If you subscribed through Apple
Open your Apple ID subscriptions on the iPhone or iPad, select LinkedIn and cancel there. LinkedIn notes that it cannot provide billing support for these purchases, so payment questions go to Apple.
If you subscribed through Google Play
Open the LinkedIn Android app or your Google Play subscriptions and cancel from there. Confirm the end date shown on screen.
When Should You Cancel?
Cancel at least one day before your next billing date. LinkedIn sets that deadline, and outside the US it calculates billing dates in UTC. A paid plan keeps working until the cycle ends, so canceling early costs you nothing.
The exception is a free trial. A trial ends the moment you cancel, so wait until a day or two before it converts. Our free trial guide covers those dates.
Before the end date, do two things:
- Use your remaining InMail credits.
- Finish any LinkedIn Learning course you want the certificate for.
Will You Get a Refund?
Not by canceling alone. Cancellation stops future charges, while money already paid follows LinkedIn’s refund policy. Eligibility depends on your country, your purchase channel and whether you have had a refund before.
If you believe you qualify, submit the refund form on LinkedIn’s site. For app store purchases, ask Apple or Google. We explain the rules by region in LinkedIn Premium refund.
Canceling because of the monthly cost?
A fixed-term LinkedIn Premium Business subscription from Hi-Tech4U costs less, has no surprise renewal, and activates on your own account through an official invitation link.
See the Premium Business priceWhat Do You Lose and What Do You Keep?
You lose the paid features and keep your account. LinkedIn lists the features that end with Premium. Everything that belongs to the free account remains untouched.
| You lose | You keep |
|---|---|
| Accumulated InMail credits | Your profile and its content |
| Full “who viewed your profile” list | Connections and followers |
| Extra insights on job postings | Messages and conversation history |
| Premium insights on Pages | Posts, recommendations and skills |
| LinkedIn Learning access | Certificates already earned |
| Unlimited people browsing | Standard search, within the commercial use limit |
For a fuller description of each feature, see LinkedIn Premium benefits.
What About Your Saved Card?
You can remove it after the subscription ends. LinkedIn states that you can delete your payment method at the end of the billing cycle, but not while a paid subscription is active. Set a reminder to tidy this up once access stops.
Also check for other active LinkedIn products. Job posts, a Page subscription or a second plan bill separately, and each needs its own cancellation.
Should You Cancel or Switch Plans?
Switch if you still use Premium but pay for too much. Cancel if you no longer use it weekly. Moving from Business to Career, for example, halves the fee while keeping InMail and profile viewer details.

Can I cancel LinkedIn Premium from the iPhone app?
Only if you bought it through Apple. In that case you cancel via the Apple device. If you subscribed on LinkedIn’s website, LinkedIn says you must cancel from the desktop site or the Android app, not from iOS.
Does canceling delete my LinkedIn account?
No. Canceling Premium only ends the paid features. Your profile, connections, messages and posts remain, and your account returns to the free tier. Closing an account is a completely separate action in your settings.
Will I be charged after I cancel?
Not for future cycles, provided you canceled at least one day before the billing date. The current paid period is not reversed by canceling. If a charge appears after a confirmed cancellation, contact LinkedIn with your confirmation email.
Can I pause LinkedIn Premium instead of canceling?
LinkedIn does not list a general pause option for Premium in its cancellation guidance. The practical alternative is to cancel and resubscribe when you need it again. Your profile and history stay intact in between.
Do I lose my LinkedIn Learning certificates?
No. Certificates you completed stay on your profile after Premium ends. You lose access to the course library itself, so finish any course in progress before your billing cycle closes.
